BioMy name is Raquel and I'm 17 years old. When I was 9 years old, I was diagnosed with FSGS and then I went into ESRD. My kidneys completely stopped working and I had to go on dialysis. I started on peritoneal dialysis and was on it for about 2 1/2 years. I had to stop PD dialysis because it wasn't working right for me. Then, I started hemodialysis. Finally when I was 13 years old. I got a kidney transplant. My dad gave me his kidney. I felt great, but I still spilled protein which led me to lose the transplanted kidney. The kidney lasted me 2 1/2 years. After that, I started back on hemodialysis. Currently, I'm on the transplant waiting list awaiting another kidney.
